The Michigan Affiliate shows are holding up will in spite of the gas/fuel prices.  The general feeling  is that people are planning and saving in order to keep FQHR in their summer plans.

All five shows will be in Mt. Pleasant this year. As always we welcome new people and other affiliates who would like to join in the fun to attend.  Although Mt. Pleasant is in the center of the state, it's an easy drive from just about anywhere and we would be pleased to give anyone needing them the directions.

Our pre-season activities were well received.  The Stallion Service Sale is closed for the year and we are happy to report that most of the stallions sold. The breeders are beginning to look forward to the September show which will hold the Breeder's Classic futurity classes. This year there will be weanlings, yearlings and two year olds.  This is a 4 year program so our first crop of foals from the Stallion Service Sale will be graduating next year.

Other members stepped up and found some very good sponsors for the year.  We also have been selling embroidered ball caps, denim shirts and T-shirts.  All have been very well received.

A couple years ago we refined our class list so as to not exhaust the judge.  This has enabled us to offer a wide variety of classes and still get done in time for our famous potluck on Saturday night.  There is a fine line to offering enough of a variety for exhibitors to earn points, keep our horses and exhibitors fresh and still hold the ring time to a reasonable limit.  We are happy to say it is still working very well.
