On June 7th, 2009 the Minnesota
Foundation Quarter Horse Club hosted our first
annual Ride-A-thon. The event was a huge success,
and wed like to challenge other affiliates to top
our success. We plan to choose different
charities to support each year.
The weather was cool and misty as the horses and
their riders set out to raise money for the
American Cancer Society. The day began at 9am
with registration, coffee and rolls at the Wild
River Trail Center. The horses were fresh in the
cool weather and the riders were excited to head
down the trail. A warm lunch was served at noon
and riders enjoyed out bidding each other on the
various silent auction items donated by corporate
sponsors and ride participants. Pictures were
taken, stories shared, new friends made and old
friendships rekindled. The hardy group of 40
riders together with several corporate and
individual sponsors raised $5,286.00 for the
American Cancer Society.
The club would like to extend a sincere thank you
to all those who helped make this event a big
success.
